Hamilton eases to Singapore GP victory
Lewis Hamilton strengthened his grip on the Formula 1 Drivers Championship with victory at the Singapore Grand Prix.
The Mercedes driver led from pole to finish ahead of Red Bull’s Max Verstappen at the Marina Bay Street Circuit.
Hamilton’s title rival Sebastian Vettel finished third, meaning that the gap between the pair at the top of the standings has grown to 40 points.
Meanwhile, Esteban Ocon was forced out of the race in the opening lap after a collision with his Force India team-mate Sergio Perez, who was later given a drive-through penalty for driving into Sergy Sirotkin during an attempted overtake.
