Nadal set for return from injury
Rafael Nadal gets his Paris Masters campaign underway on Wednesday evening, knowing that his position as world number one is under serious threat.
The Spaniard takes on compatriot Fernando Verdasco in his first appearance on a tennis court in almost two months following a knee injury.
That absence has allowed the in-form Novak Djokovic to close in on Nadal at the top of the rankings, with just 215 points separating the stars.
Meanwhile, Roger Federer, who’s also in with a chance of ending the year at the summit, faces Milos Raonic late on Wednesday.
