Retired expats to be allowed to stay in UAE on five-year visa
Expats will be able to remain in the UAE after retiring, from next year.
It’s as the UAE Federal Cabinet has approved a law which will allow those over the age of 55 to obtain a five-year visa, which could possibly be renewed further.
However, that will be conditional on the retirees meeting a number of requirements, such as owning properties worth at least AED 2 million or having a monthly income of over AED 20,000.
The details were announced following a Cabinet meeting chaired by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai.
During the meeting, a resolution to reduce the cost of electricity for factories was also introduced, in order to support the industrial sector.
