More than 1,200 UAE nationals have been recruited into the healthcare sector over the last six months, marking a significant stride in the 2023 "Tawteen" Emiratisation initiative.
Making the announcement, the Department of Health – Abu Dhabi (DoH) said the move has resulted in a 12 per cent annual growth in the sector’s national workforce.
Key to this achievement is the "Nafis Programme" and the "National Healthcare Programme," aiming to train 10,000 Emiratis in medical specialties within five years.
Additionally, a specialised Emiratisation committee, led by the Minister of Health Prevention, is overseeing the integration of UAE nationals into various medical and administrative roles.
This initiative aligns with Abu Dhabi's goal to become a global healthcare leader, focusing on creating a sustainable, skilled Emirati-led healthcare sector.
