One of Ras Al Khaimah's most iconic roundabouts is getting a makeover.

Construction work has started on the emirate's 'Boat Roundabout' in a bid to give the area a new look.

Videos have been widely shared on social media of a crane lifting the famous dhow from the area.

However, authorities in Ras al Khaimah say the boat will be returned to the roundabout after maintenance work is completed.
