Dubai International Airport (DXB) more than doubled the annual passenger traffic in 2022 – claiming the title of the world’s busiest international airport for the ninth consecutive year.
In 2022, DXB welcomed 66.1 million passengers seeing a rise of 127 per cent year-on-year. Its initial forecast was for 64.3 million.
Passenger traffic in the last three months of 2022 rose 67 per cent year-on-year to 19.7 million.
It marked the airport's busiest quarter since 2019.
The busiest month was December with 7.1 million passengers, marking the first time it crossed the 7-million mark since pre-pandemic levels.
