The Arab League, on Sunday, reaffirmed Syria’s territorial integrity and sovereignty remain central pillars of the Arab consensus, effectively rejecting Israel’s further occupation of the Golan Heights.

The regional body condemned Israel exploiting Syria's transitional phase to pursue further occupation of the Golan Heights and nullify the 1974 Disengagement Agreement.

It urged the need to act responsibly, lay down arms to preserve lives and resources, and work towards completing a peaceful, inclusive, and secure political transition.

The General Secretariat called on all regional and international powers committed to stability to support the Syrian people in navigating this challenging transitional phase, including by lifting any sanctions to enable Syrians to pursue broader opportunities.
