Abu Dhabi adds 22 countries to 'Green List'

Oman, Qatar and Maldives are among 22 countries that have been added to Abu Dhabi's quarantine-free 'Green List'.

The change will come into effect on September 1, with the total number of countries under the 'Green List' now at 55.

Vaccinated travellers arriving into Abu Dhabi from these destinations do not need to quarantine, but must take a PCR test on arrival and another on day six.

Meanwhile, unvaccinated citizens, residents and visitors must take a PCR test on arrival and a PCR test on days six and nine. 

This new rule comes less than a day after authorities reopened land borders coming into Dubai from Oman.

Furthermore, fully vaccinated travellers with the final dose received at least 28 days before travel, will also not be required to quarantine when  travelling between Abu Dhabi and:

  • Bahrain
  • Greece
  • Serbia
  • Seychelles

The authorities also clarified the list is subject to change based on global COVID-19 developments.

A full report of rules for travellers to Abu Dhabi was issued by the Abu Dhabi Emergency, Crisis and Disasters Committee on August 14.
