New bus services have been introduced in Abu Dhabi city and the suburbs, while the routes of some of the existing ones have been modified to ensure better connectivity.

The Integrated Transport Centre (ITC) has also launched night-time bus services as well as routes with limited stops to cut down travel time between downtown Abu Dhabi and densely populated areas.

Regular commuters and visitors can also look forward to additional services to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

The ITC has introduced 'limited stop' bus services L41, L42 and L43 along Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street. These routes will help cut travel time between downtown Abu Dhabi and the densely-populated areas on Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Street, the capital area, and Rabdan.

New local bus services 23 and 24 will connect Al Qasr area and Al Khalidiyah to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, Rabdan, and Abu Dhabi Gate.

Routes 41 and 42 will continue to operate with an adjustment in the frequency of their trips, while local bus services 22 and X4 have been replaced with new services.

Regional bus services 103, 161 and 175 have been connected to the same stations as the buses with limited stops to improve the linked network and its efficiency.

Night trips between downtown Abu Dhabi and suburbs

Night-time bus services N41 and N43 offer direct trips between Al Zahia, Al Danah, the capital area, and Rabdan, operating from midnight to 4:00 am.

Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque

In addition to the existing service 94, the ITC has launched a new route, 24, conducting trips between Al Khalidiyah and the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque.

The ITC has also expanded the regional bus service 401 from Al Qana Bus intersection to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque to facilitate visitors’ access to the mosque from Abu Dhabi's suburbs.

Al Bahia, Al Shahama, Al Rahba and Al Samha

For the purpose of achieving better integration of the public bus network, the ITC has shortened route no. 222 between Al Shahama and West of Al Samha.

The new local bus service 221 between Al Bahia Market and East Al Samha operates along the cancelled part of route 222.

Both services also operate in Al Reef 2 Village, Mawasim Park (Green House), and Etisalat in Al Samha. The service is also connected to route 201 and Al Bahia Martyrs Mosque (Al Shahama Market).

The route between Al Bahia Market and North Al Bahia has been cancelled due to decreased demand, while local bus service 225 continues to connect North of Al Bahia and Deerfields Town Square.

Meanwhile, regional bus services 201 and 202 provide trips to the city of Abu Dhabi at 15 minute intervals during peak hours.

Baniyas and Khalifa City

The regional bus service 407 has been redirected to pass through the old Baniyas East market and taxis station, with the aim of improving the accessibility of services in these areas.

In response to the high demand for bus services between downtown Abu Dhabi and Khalifa City, the ITC has announced an increase in the frequency of regional bus service 160, which now operates every 15 minutes throughout the day.
