Twitter

A pilot in Dubai has been fined AED 10,000 for flouting COVID-19 safety rules and organising a yacht party.

Taking to Twitter, the Dubai Police said the 25 guests at the party were caught flouting rules pertaining to physical distancing and face-masks.

The crackdown is part of efforts by the authorities to ensure precautionary measures are followed in a bid to curb the spread of COVID-19.

In a tweet in June, the National Emergency Crisis and Disasters Management Authority (NCEMA) had specified that yachts could host commercial activities at 50 per cent of its total capacity as long as all safety measures were met.
