Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) is all set to launch its satellite under its Space-D Programme today.

DEWASAT-1 nanosatellite will be on board a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket that’ll blast into space from Kennedy Space Center in Florida.

DEWA’s space programme was greenlighted by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, in January 2021.

The nanosatellite aims to help DEWA use space technologies to enhance its electricity and water networks.
