Additional restrictions are in place on the movement of people and traffic in Dubai’s Al Ras area over the next two weeks to help with the sterilisation programme.

The stricter measures have been introduced due to the high density of population there.

The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has shut the main access points leading to the area from Al Musalla, Al Khaleej and Baniyas Streets.

The plan also includes the closure of three stations on the Dubai Metro Green Line: Al Ras, Palm Deira and Baniyas Square.

Additionally, all bus routes to Al Ras will be diverted to Al Musalla, Al Khaleej and Omar Bin Al Khattab streets, while taxi movement to the neighbourhood will be restricted.

Teams from the Dubai Health Authority (DHA) will provide all essential supplies to the residents of the area during the two-week period.

The General Command of Dubai Police has appealed to the public to cooperate with the authorities and abide by all instructions to ensure the preventive measures are a success.

Those who are not residents of Al Ras are prohibited from travelling to the area.
