A cleaner in Dubai has been honoured by authorities for returning a bag containing 15 kg of gold.

Taher Ali Maqbool said he found the bag in a parking lot in the Al Sabka area.

He was given a plaque by His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer, Director General and Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA).

Last year a Starbucks coffee employee from Nepal was recognised after handing over a bag containing hundreds of thousands of dirhams and some passports that were forgotten by a tourist.
