Cold calls from property dealers could soon be a thing of the past, thanks to a new initiative launched by the Dubai Land Department (DLD).

The authority has rolled out a so-called 'Green List' system to ensure that brokers don't reach out to people without their consent.

It can be accessed through the DLD's Dubai REST application.

Marwan bin Ghalita, CEO of Dubai's Real Estate Regulatory Agency (RERA), told ARN News that the new system gives customers the option to register their details and deactivate their accounts anytime.

He also explained how authorities will be monitoring the entire process.
