Over 700,000 residents benefitted from initiatives introduced by Dubai Police's Department of Community Happiness over the course of 2023.
Their achievements were highlighted during the General Department of Community Happiness annual inspection, overseen by Major General Abdulla Ali Al Ghaithi, Assistant Commandant for Operations Affairs at Dubai Police.
Al Ghaithi was briefed on the department's efforts in various areas, including government communication, community responsibility, awareness campaigns, marketing campaigns, media relations, and community initiatives.
Key achievements highlighted included traffic, criminal and community awareness and marketing campaigns.
In 2023, the department implemented 28 community initiatives that benefitted 708,800 individuals. Over the past three years, there have been 1,353 volunteer opportunities, with 32,151 volunteers contributing 918,725 hours of service.
Dubai Police also organised 35 exhibitions in 2023, including seven international and 28 local. Over the past three years, 101 exhibitions have been held.
