UAE honours Syrian earthquake volunteers

The Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) has honoured Syrian Arab Red Crescent volunteers for their work across four Syrian provinces, and recognises the UAE's continuous humanitarian relief efforts in alleviating the suffering of affected families following the earthquake in February.

The "Knights of Humanity" event, arranged as part of Operation Gallant Knight 2, was organised by the Joint Operations Command of the Ministry of Defence.

Amer Ismail Hilal, Governor of Latakia, praised the medical institutions, rescue teams, and local and Arab relief organisations for their efforts.

Mohammed Khamis Al Kaabi, Head of the Emirates Red Crescent delegation in Syria, added the volunteers played a significant role during the aftermath (of the earthquake) and provided great support to the ERC in relief operations in Syria.
