The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is gearing up for a grand celebration marking the 15th anniversary of the Dubai Metro, under the theme '15 Years on Track'.

The driverless mass transit service was launched on September 9, 2009.

The festivities will feature a host of promotional and entertainment activities, promising surprises and joy for residents and visitors alike.

Highlights of the anniversary celebrations include Emirates Post issuing limited edition stamps for collectors, and the RTA unveiling a special edition Nol Card with a unique design by LEGO Middle East. Exclusive Metro-themed souvenirs will be offered by Al Jaber Gallery.

On September 21, 2024, LEGOLAND Dubai will host a special event for "Metro Babies" - children born on September 9 (from 2009 to 2023). Parents can register their children through the RTA website.

In a sweet twist, IGLOO will offer limited edition ice creams shaped like the Dubai Metro, with 5,000 of these treats containing special codes for a chance to win one of 5,000 Nol Terhaal discount cards.

From September 21 to 27, Dubai Metro stations will come alive with musical performances as part of the 4th Dubai Metro Music Festival. This annual event, organised by Brand Dubai, will feature both Emirati and international musicians.
