His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, has led talks in the first episode of the Majlis Mohamed bin Zayed Virtual Ramadan Series.

Titled "Human Fraternity and Peaceful Coexistence: The Core Message of Faiths," the discussions centred on the UAE’s leading role in promoting harmony between citizens of all religions, creeds and cultures.

The episode featured contributions from Shaykh Abdallah Bin Bayyah, Chairman of the UAE Fatwa Council, Rabbi Dr Elie Abadie, Senior Rabbi, Jewish Council of the Emirates, and Bishop Paul Hinder, Apostolic Vicar of Southern Arabia.

His Highness highlighted the series’ significance during the fiftieth anniversary of the UAE’s founding.

Sheikh Abdullah also discussed how the shared adversity experienced during the COVID-19 pandemic has strengthened community bonds.

Rabbi Dr Elie Abadie expressed how the UAE had made a difference in his life and in the life of the religious community he leads.

"I have had the privilege of living in this beautiful and blessed country. As the head of the Jewish community, I have felt very welcome and respected. I have felt the open arms and the embrace of the Emirati people. The concept of tolerance, coexistence and human fraternity are not just concepts, they are lived and practiced here," he said.

Following the talks, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, emphasised the UAE's unifying principles.

In a post on social media, His Highness stated, "Our core values of tolerance and peaceful coexistence have helped shape our strength and unity over the past fifty years."

"We will continue to light the path towards peace and development for the UAE and for the world for the next fifty years and beyond."

The series airs throughout the Holy Month on Mondays at 5:45 pm on the Emarat TV Channel and the MBZ Majlis YouTube Channel, with reruns on Wednesdays.

The next episode on April 26 will explore the theme of Global Health.
