H.H. Sheikh Mohammed outlines UAE's priorities for 2023

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, chaired the first Cabinet meeting of the year on Monday.

Sheikh Mohammed outlined the government's five priorities in 2023, which include consolidating national identity, enhancing environmental sustainability, developing the educational system and its outcomes, accelerating Emiratisation and expanding the country’s international economic partnerships.

During the meeting, he also hailed the nation's progress during 2022 and expressed his optimism for the year ahead.

"The UAE was among the top five countries in the world in 339 developmental, economic and social indicators in 2022, thanks to the efforts of an integrated government system, coordinated efforts and youthful energy that continued day and night," Sheikh Mohammed said on Twitter.

"Today, we start a new journey in 2023, in which we compete with ourselves and race against time, so that our country will be the first and the best, God willing," he added.

His Highness also explained that the Cabinet issued more than 900 decisions in 2022, 22 government policies were developed and approved, 68 federal laws were updated and issued, while 113 national regulatory regulations were drafted, approved, and implemented.
