Hit-and-run driver nabbed in Sharjah

A motorist who fled the scene after running over a pedestrian has been nabbed by Sharjah Police.

The Arab national was tracked down within three hours of receiving the report of the incident, which took place on the Second Industrial Street.

The Asian victim, who suffered serious injuries was transferred to Al-Qasimi Hospital for treatment. Investigations revealed that he crossed the road from a non-designated area.

Sharjah Police urged the public to use designated pedestrian crossings and also reminded motorists to follow the traffic rules and not to flee the scene of an accident.
