Police patrols are being stepped up in Ajman during school pick-up and drop-off times.

It's part of efforts to ensure students reach school and return home safely.

Ajman Police have also launched a major awareness campaign reminding bus drivers, pupils and parents about the dos and don'ts during school times.

Last month, a 12-year-old student in Ajman died after being accidentally run over by her school bus while being dropped off near her house.
