Sharjah's humanitarian drive, 'Salam Beirut' has started rebuilding 485 homes that were destroyed in the explosion that struck Lebanon's capital earlier this month.
It will help rehabilitate around 2,900 people, including 225 refugees, within the next six months.
The aid campaign, led by the Sharjah-based global humanitarian organisation, The Big Heart Foundation is focusing on the urgent needs of the blast victims.
It has partnered with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and a local NGO to supply food and other essential items to those affected by the explosion.
