UAE announces new traffic fines

The UAE's Ministry of Interior has announced new traffic fines aimed at boosting safety measures, especially during unstable weather conditions and emergency situations.

The updated list of traffic violations carry fines of up to AED 2,000 and 23 black points, depending on the nature of the offence.

  • AED 2,000 fine, 23 black points and 60 days vehicle confiscation for entering flooded valleys while overflowing with rainwater.
  • AED 1,000 fine, four black points and 60 days vehicle confiscation for obstructing the authorities from regulating traffic or ambulance and rescue operations during emergencies, crises, disasters, including rains and floods. 
  • AED 1,000 fine and six black points for gathering near valley, floods and dams during rainy weather
