The International Humanitarian and Philanthropic Affairs Council announced the start of the collection of donations for The UAE stands with Lebanon campaign, launched in solidarity with the people of Lebanon during the ongoing crisis.
The campaign plans to collect donations from the public in collaboration with humanitarian and charitable organisations. A humanitarian relief package collection and packing campaign will be held at the specified times and designated locations as follows:
1. Saturday, October 12, 2024, from 9:00am to 1:00pm - at the Dubai Exhibition Center in Expo City Dubai.
2. Sunday, October 13, 2024, from 9:00am to 1:00pm - at the Abu Dhabi Cruise Terminal of the Abu Dhabi Ports (Terminal 1).
A large group of volunteers from different nationalities and communities in the UAE will participate in organising the campaign in coordination with the Emirates Foundation’s Volunteers Platform, in addition to other volunteer platforms in various emirates.
Cash donations will be received through the bank accounts of the Emirates Red Crescent (ERC) or through the website and smart applications of the Authority and official associations operating in the country.
In-kind assistance will be received through the ERC Authority’s warehouses in the Musaffah area of Abu Dhabi and other warehouses in the Dubai Humanitarian, in addition to the Authority’s offices in all regions of the country.
The UAE ordered a relief package worth a total of $100 million (AED 367 million) to Lebanon last week. Six planes loaded with around 250 tonnes of medical supplies, food, relief materials, and shelter equipment were sent over the weekend, with an additional six delivered on Monday.
President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan also directed the provision of an urgent aid package worth $30 million (AED 110 million) to the displaced Lebanese people in Syria on Monday.
