UAE launches 'COP28 Visa' ahead of global summit

A new visa for COP28 participants is being launched ahead of the summit later this year. 

With less than five months to go plans are well underway for COP28, which will be hosted in Dubai later this year.

The UAE delivered a progress update at the United Nations on Tuesday, where Majid Al Suwaidi, Director-General and Special Representative of COP28, he announced a new visa to allow smoother entry to the country.

He added that the permit, called "COP28 Visa", will be valid for all registered blue zone participants at climate summit.

During the briefing, Al Suwaidi also highlighted the main topics of focus.

Al Suwaidi also revealed what attendees can expect from the summit. 

The global Climate Change Conference will be held at Expo City Dubai from November 30 until December 12.
