UAE President meets Chinese Premier in Abu Dhabi

The UAE's President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Chinese Premier Li Qiang have discussed ways to enhance and expand the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between their countries.

During the meeting at Qasr Al Watan in Abu Dhabi, the two leaders reviewed the progress in key areas such as economy, trade, investment, renewable energy, sustainability, education and culture.

They highlighted the 40th anniversary of diplomatic ties between the UAE and China, noting the strong partnership that has bolstered mutual development and prosperity.

Sheikh Mohamed reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to advancing this strategic partnership, aligning with both nations' developmental goals.

The two sides also discussed regional and international issues, emphasising the importance of peace, stability and resolving conflicts through diplomatic means.

The discussion touched on the situation in the Middle East, particularly efforts to achieve a ceasefire in Gaza and ensure humanitarian aid. Both leaders underscored the importance of pursuing comprehensive peace based on a two-state solution.

Sheikh Mohamed highlighted the significance of his recent visit to China and expressed appreciation for President Xi Jinping’s dedication to strengthening UAE-China relations. He also reaffirmed the UAE’s commitment to the Belt and Road initiative.

Premier Li expressed gratitude for the warm reception and signed the VIP guest book at Qasr Al Watan, wishing for the UAE's continued prosperity and growth in bilateral relations.

Following the meeting, Sheikh Mohamed hosted a luncheon in honor of Li and his delegation.
