UAE steps up support for bakery operations in Gaza

WAM

The UAE is intensifying its relief efforts in Gaza through Operation Chivalrous Knight 3, aimed at addressing the critical humanitarian crisis in the territory.

One key initiative, the 'Subsidised Bread' project, supports 14 bakeries in Khan Younis and Central Gaza, providing essential ingredients and wheat flour to produce and distribute bread daily to local citizens and displaced individuals.

This effort plays a vital role in ensuring food security amid a severe wheat shortage.

Hamad Al Neyadi, Head of the UAE Relief Mission, said that this support aligns with the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to assist Gaza’s residents in overcoming their challenges and meeting basic needs.

He added that the project is part of a broader, sustainable effort to aid families in need and ensure access to vital food supplies.

Following the ceasefire, Operation Chivalrous Knight 3 has intensified its relief efforts, prioritizing immediate needs while also implementing development projects to improve living conditions.
