A-level students across the UAE have been receiving their final results on Tuesday.

They have been awarded teacher-assessed grades as formal exams were cancelled due to the COVID-19 pandemic for the second consecutive year.

The results were decided on the basis of internal assessments over the past year.

More than 980 pupils from 16 GEMS British curriculum schools in the UAE completed nearly 2,900 A-levels, with 38% of students achieving an A*.

"The hard work, commitment and dedication from both students and teachers alike have paid off in what has been an extremely challenging year. We are very proud of what our students have accomplished and look forward to their continuing success in their chosen pathways," said Campbell Douglas, Principal/CEO, GEMS Wellington Academy – Al Khail.

Horizon International School, part of Al Najah Education, is also celebrating impressive 2021 A Level results.

28% were awarded the top grade of A*, with 64% of entries achieving A*-A grades and 81% A*-B.

"Our students and staff have shown unquestionable resilience and determination to succeed and for that, we must congratulate them for being excellent role models from whom we can all learn about success in adversity,” said Darren Gale, Principal at Horizon International School.

A Level is a secondary school leaving qualification in the UK and an international school qualification worldwide.

It is widely accepted by universities around the world.
