A partial solar eclipse will be visible in the UAE and across most of Europe, northern Africa and western parts of Asia on Tuesday, October 25.

The time at maximum eclipse will be 03:51 pm, with 50 per cent of the sun's surface covered.

According to the Dubai Astronomy Group (DAG), a partial solar eclipse happens when the moon comes between the sun and the earth.

Speaking to ARN News, Hasan Hariri, CEO of the DAG, explains why residents should not miss this phenomenon.

He also reminds people about the importance of wearing protective eyewear when observing the solar eclipse.

The DAG will host a special screening for school groups and the public at the Al Thuraya Astronomy Centre in Mushrif, with ticket prices starting from AED 30. It can be booked online, with live-streaming services available online as well.
