UAE uses drones to fight red palm weevils

Drones are being used by the Ministry of Environment and Water to fight red palm weevils which destroy date trees. This is according to officials at the ministry, who say the drones are used to create maps which identify the species of weevil and show the scale of damage to the trees. Lin Pin Koh, regional technical advisor for conservation international told ARN drones are also being used for conservation.
