Abu Dhabi patient's medical records set to be linked to shared database

The medical records of patients in Abu Dhabi will soon be shared between all healthcare facilities in the emirate.

There has been significant progress on the unified electronic database called Malaffi, which was launched earlier this year.

The new system will ensure that medics have access to accurate information, regardless of where the patient was treated in the past.

It will also help reduce costs and avoid prescription errors as well as unnecessary lab tests.

Atif Al Braiki, CEO of Abu Dhabi Health Data Services, spoke to ARN News.

He added that all public and private healthcare providers in the UAE capital are expected to be linked to Malaffi by the end of the year.
