Adidas says it’s monitoring how world athletics is handling the doping scandal as its sponsorship still runs. The firm’s chief executive Herbert Hainer says the German sportswear brand hasn’t terminated its contract with the International Association of Athletics Federation (IAAF). The firm, believed to be IAAF’s biggest sponsor, was reported to have plans of ending the deal in January, after it was discovered that Russia had engaged in widespread, state-sponsored doping. Hainer welcomed reforms adopted last week at FIFA in a bid to address corruption issues in football. He said Adidas and other sponsors were working to ensure they’re being implemented.
