Globe Soccer Awards to feature new categories

This year's Globe Soccer Awards in Dubai will include three special categories for the sport’s leading females.

Returning for its 11th year in partnership with Dubai Sports Council, the awards will recognize the Best Women’s Player of the Year, Best Club of the Year and Best Referee of the Year.

The Globe Soccer Awards are considered to be part of the ‘Grand Slam’ of football award ceremonies alongside the Ballon d’Or and The Best FIFA Football Awards.

Cristiano Ronaldo is in the running for his sixth Best Men’s Player of the Year accolade alongside FC Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and a roster of internationally-recognised stars.

The 2019 awards ceremony will take place at Dubai’s Madinat Jumeirah on December 29.
