With just days to go until the Melbourne Cup Carnival, Godolphin Stables, founded by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, UAE’s Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, have unveiled a new exhibition in the centre of the city. Entitled ‘Race for Excellence’, the exhibition tells the story of how His Highness Sheikh Mohammed has turned vision into reality, leading Dubai and its rich horse racing heritage on a journey from humble beginnings to global excellence. It also charts the remarkable expansion of his Godolphin stable, from its inception in 1992 to present day where it is the largest operation of its kind in the world, boasting 1,200 horses, more than 500 employees and 228 Group One race wins in 12 countries. The exhibition also highlights the growth of Dubai as a sporting hub and the in particular the Dubai World Cup, the world’s richest horse race and one of the highlights on the UAE sporting calendar.It’s not only about the horse racing though. Godolphin’s work in the community is also featured, including their help with relief, recovery and aid after the devastating Victorian bushfires of 2009. Underpinning it all are incredible interactive tools to help visitors in their journey of discovery to understanding the impact that Godolphin continues to have on and off the race track around the world.
