Ten-Man Al Wasl earn 1-1 draw against Al Sadd

Ten-man Al Wasl battled hard to earn a crucial point in their AFC Champions League Elite 2024/25 campaign, securing a 1-1 draw against Al Sadd SC at Zabeel Stadium in Dubai on Monday night.

The match saw both teams pushing for victory, with Al Wasl taking the lead in the 29th minute through a well-taken goal by Alexis Perez.

However, Al Sadd quickly responded, with Romain Saiss equalising shortly after, leveling the score at 1-1.

The game took a dramatic turn in the 83rd minute when Al Wasl's Soufiane Bouftini was shown a red card, leaving the team with just 10 men for the remaining minutes.

Despite the numerical disadvantage, Al Wasl's defense held strong, and the match ended in a hard-fought draw.

Al Sadd remain unbeaten in the competition, moving to eight points from four matches. The team have shown resilience throughout the tournament, are just one point behind with seven points, maintaining a solid position in the group stage.

The draw adds to the excitement in the highly competitive AFC Champions League Elite group, with both teams still in contention for a place in the knockout rounds as the tournament progresses.
