As part of its contributions towards the Year of Giving initiative launched by His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, the National Media Council launched the Walk to Give initiative to highlight the UAE media sector’s keenness to play an effective role in the success of national initiatives and to give back to the community. The Council is organising a march from Zayed Sports City to the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque in Abu Dhabi; the march is set to witness a significant turnout from media professionals from around the UAE.
Objectives of the Initiative
Shed light on the Council’s role in the success of national initiatives and coordinate the efforts of the media sector in the UAE.
Get the media involved in promoting the messages and objectives of the initiatives.
Establish a culture of charity and volunteer work among media professionals by giving them the opportunity to donate and contribute in the Year of Giving activities.
The National Media Council calls on all media professionals to take part in the march, this includes –
Employees of national media organisations.
Employees of international media institutions in the free zones.
Social media influencers.
Employees in government communications departments, Public relations and advertising agencies, Publishing houses, Students of communication and media faculties in UAE universities, and ADNOC employees.
